If you encounter the mount /data error or error mounting data message in the recovery mode of your MTK Android (e.g Tecno, Gionee, Infinix, Opsson, Innjoo etc) phone then your /data or /SD card partitions might be corrupted. To fix this, try the methods below:
Format SD card (If there's a slot for it)
* Remove the SD card
* Format the memory card on a PC (FAT32)
* Slot the SD card back in and boot the phone normally
* Switch off then boot into recovery mode
* Re-try the operation
Wipe data & eMMC
* Boot into recovery mode (volume up + power) and select Wipe data / factory reset
* If the above fails, boot into Chinese factory mode (Volume down + power) and select the option with eMMC in its name
* Reboot the phone
Reflash Stock backup
* Download the stock backup for your exact phone model or extract from a working phone of the same model using the method @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-526.html (data.img and cache.img are required)
* Flash all the files (including data.img and cache.img) using SP flash tool @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-159.html
