Kontera specializes in In-Text or inline advertising. They have been in the business before Infolinks and Adbrite. They also have a huge advertiser base. In May 2011, Kontera started a new feature designed to maximize revenue and value for publishers. They say this new feature uses a semantic engine to understand and assess user interest. Once they asses the user interest on publisher sites, and later when they see these users elsewhere on the web they show them relevant banners and share the revenues with the publisher where the user first expressed interest. Kontera outperforms infolinks inline ads when it comes to the relevance of the keywords underlined. If the ads and keywords are pertaining to the user search terms, the chances of the user clicking on your ad ( CTR) is more.  Kontera is giving now a $50 bonus if your website has at least 25,000 U.S. page views during your first month with Kontera. Joining with Kontera Joining with Kontera has been very smooth recently. Publishers from all countries are accepted. One of our sites with less than 6000 page views per month were rejected by Kontera some years back. The same site has been accepted some months back, which means they have relaxed their joining criteria. Their terms of use demands that you do not put any other in-text advertisements along with Kontera in-text ads. However, we find this to be acceptable even with  Kontera support knowing about this.

Kontera Controls Unlike Clicksor and  Adbrite in-text ads, Kontera has more control features for their ads like 1) How to avoid certain areas and words getting underlined as links.  In order  not to underline headings, titles, navigation bars and footers, Kontera uses zone tags and filter tags. Zone tags tell the script where to analyze in the page for putting links and filter tags are used to specify where the links should not come. These tags can be downloaded from their support page. 2) Number of words underlined as links. Kontera underlines eight words as ad links without any setting. If you want to limit the underlining to a specific number, you have to contact Kontera support, and they would do it for you.   New Features Kontera has recently introduced a new way of monetizing images on any site. For this you need to contact them and they would guide you through. Another new fetaure is ads ready to be displayed on sites which are designed for mobile phones. Kontera Reports Kontera ads impressions and clicks are  updated in their reports after one day. Kontera Reports From the reports it is clear that Kontera has a very good eCPM of above 15 and a very good CTR. If you are getting a low CPC from Kontera, you could contact their support and they would make some adjustments which would  bring a much better CPC. Kontera Support Kontera support is good. Whenever we used their e-mail support system, the  response was adequate even though not within 24 hours. Kontera Payments Kontera offers the payment mode through Check, Wire or Paypal. Minimum payout is with a $50. Their payments are based on a net-30 scheme.  If an  account balance reaches $50 in September, Kontera will send the payment to you in the first week of November.
