Looming bankruptcy, default and the exit of Greece from the euro could be the “beginning of the end” for the European Union, according to Europe’s foreign policy chief.

Greece yesterday defiantly refused to implement any more austerity measures and the IMF signalled that talks to rescue Greece were not working, heralding Greek bankruptcy next month.
