Two magnitude-6 earthquakes have struck off Samoa in the Pacific Ocean, the US Geological Survey (USGS) says.
The first quake was measured at magnitude-6.3, the second at 6.8, the monitor said.
The epicentre of the first was measured 124 kilometres west-south-west of the capital Apia, at a depth of 116 kilometres at 9:56pm local time.
The second quake hit 172.4 kilometres west of Samoa at a depth of 80 kilometres at 10:18pm.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said, based on its preliminary data, there was no tsunami threat from the earthquakes.
The quakes came just hours after a major magnitude-7.5 quake tremor rattled nearby Papua New Guinea.
