Germanwings plane crash: One of the pilots reportedly left cockpit, unable to return before French Alps crash

One of the pilots of the crashed Germanwings Airbus left the cockpit and was unable to return before the plane slammed into the French Alps, The New York Times is reporting.
The newspaper has quoted an unnamed investigator who has heard the cockpit voice recording.
"The guy outside is knocking lightly on the door and there is no answer and then he hits the door stronger and no answer. There is never an answer," the investigator told the Times.
"You can hear he is trying to smash the door down," the investigator added.
The report cannot be independently verified at this stage.
All 150 people on board the airliner were killed, including two Australians.
The reports come after the head of French air crash investigation agency BEA said "usable data" was recovered from one of the black boxes crashed plane.
Remi Jouty said data had been recovered, but experts still had no explanation for the crash.
More to come.
