APC group accuses Akpabio, Senator Bob, REC of rigging elections in Akwa Ibom

Godswill Akpabio

WorldStage Newsonline-- The Co-ordinator of Women's Pro-Climate Federation for Buhari Osinbajo Presidency 2015, Mrs Ekaette Enitan Sanusi has accused Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Effiong Bob, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Austin Okojie, and others of rigging the Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections in the South-South state.
Sanusi declared the election in the oil-bearing state as a shame, 'horrendous stealing', calling on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, to cancel the election.
She said: “We are saddened by the horrendous stealing of the people rights by Godswill Akpabio and PDP high command in Akwa Ibom State coordinated by Senator Effiong Bob at the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly Election.
“In virtually all the polling units, the vital election result sheets have been confiscated by the PDP stalwarts with the connivance of the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Austin Okojie.
“While voters were accredited, they were denied and robbed of the inherent rights to cast their ballots to vote for the candidates of their choice.
“This electoral fraud and evil machination will not stand and must be resisted. We are demanding that the INEC National Headquarters should cancel the election, commence investigation, prosecute suspects and repeat the election in Akwa Ibom State accordingly.”
