The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
has declared former Governor of Jigawa State, Ibrahim
Saminu Turaki, wanted for his repeated failure to attend
court.
He is wanted in connection with a number of crimes
including criminal conspiracy, stealing, money
laundering and misappropriation of public funds to the
tune of N36 billion.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued on
Monday by the anti-graft agency.
"The public is hereby notified that Ibrahim Saminu
Turaki, the former governor of Jigawa state is wanted by
the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy,
stealing, money laundering and misappropriation of
public funds to the tune of N36 billion." the statement
read.

It added that the former governor has continuously
evaded appearance in court.
"At the last sitting on November 13, 2014, he was
absent, despite a subsisting warrant for his arrest," EFCC
said.
Turaki is aged 50.
He is said to speaks Hausa and English fluently.
His last known address is No. 16 Dennis Osadebey
Street, Asokoro Abuja.
EFCC urged anybody with useful information as to his
whereabouts to contact the Commission in its Enugu,
Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt and Abuja offices.
Turaki was governor between 1999 and 2007.
