Beckham: Blanc is a great coach

Former Paris Saint-Germain
midfielder David Beckham has
defended current boss Laurent
Blanc after another defeat for the
Ligue 1 champions.
PSG collapsed to a shock 4-2
defeat to lowly Bastia on Saturday and are four points
behind league leaders Lyon after two losses and a draw in
their last three league games.
Beckham retired just before the arrival of Blanc at PSG in
2013 but played with the former France defender at
Manchester United, and won the French title in his time at
Paris.
And the ex-Real Madrid, AC Milan and LA Galaxy star says
Blanc is still the right man to lead the French club.
"PSG have a great coach who has played for big clubs and
won major competitions," Beckham is quoted as saying on
beIN Sport . "They are well supervised and ambitious."
The 39-year-old added: "Ligue 1 is very difficult to win.
PSG has great players, a great coach and great fans. I'll
hope they'll win the title, but it's always complicated."
Blanc took over from Carlo Ancelotti, who left for Real
Madrid, in June 2013 and led the club to victory in the
Coupe de la Ligue and Ligue 1 in his first season.
The former France boss also guided PSG to the quarter-
finals of the Champions League and Beckham believes they
can draw on experience when they take part in the
knockout stages of this year's competition, where they will
face Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Beckham said: "The Champions League? They have been
there for a few seasons and are a team with experience and
who have played great games."
Beckham only played 14 games for PSG as they won the
2013 Ligue 1 title at the tail end of a long and trophy-laden
career but the Englishman says the club holds a special
place in his heart.
"I lived one of the best periods of my career in Paris. It was
very exciting to be part of a club in such a beautiful city,"
he said.
"It was really special. I felt like I was part of the family. I'll
always be a part of this club."
