8th grader killed in Rosemont shooting

GENERIC CRIME SCENE Authorities are investigating a shooting that left one dead in Rosemont Friday night. According to a statement from the Rosemont public safety department, patrol units responded Friday night to disturbance calls followed by calls of gunshots at 10451 Carol Ct. There they found a male victim on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a statement from School District 62, the victim was an eighth grader at Iroquois Community School in Des Plaines. His identity has not yet been released. This is a developing story.
